What is 'Avoid low battery levels'?
With Avoid low battery protection enabled, your car will begin to charge automatically if your battery level falls below 20%.
If Avoid low battery protection is activated during peak hours, your battery will charge only to 20% to ensure you have a minimum charge for unexpected transportation needs and emergencies. The remainder of your charging will be optimized for off-peak hours and your battery will charge to its target level.
Another reason why you may want to enable Avoid low battery levels is for battery health. Keeping your charge between 20% - 80% may help extend your EV's battery life. If needed, you can adjust the target battery level from your EV's mobile app.
Note: Avoiding low battery levels is only available to select vehicles
What is 'Rooftop solar charging'?
Rooftop solar charging allows you to prioritize charging your EV during the hours when your solar system produces the most energy, while still balancing electricity costs and making sure your vehicle is ready when you need it.
WeaveGrid uses these hours, along with your electricity rates and charging needs, to create a personalized charging plan. During your selected solar hours, the system will prioritize charging your vehicle. If your vehicle isn’t fully charged within that window, charging will continue during other available times, such as off-peak hours, to ensure your vehicle is ready by your chosen time.
Important note: Rooftop solar charging is based on the hours you set, not real-time solar production. Enabling this feature means you could see charging on overcast days and could result in grid energy being used.
